A Life by Hugh Leonard

The Story

Drumm starts preparing himself for his last journey of life after learning that he has a terminal illness. He decides to visit his old friends Mary and Lar, the couple he alienated for years, to reconcile with his past and hence to make sense of his life. But once he reveals his feeling, he immerses himself in his memory - a date with Mary and a failure when he made his first speech in a debate competition - where he finds himself struggling with the bitterness towards his obstinacies.
