The story centers on a baker and his wife who long for a child, but are hindered by a curse. A witch tells them that the curse can only be lifted by gathering four items: hair as yellow as corn, a cape as red as blood, a cow as white as milk and a slipper as pure as gold. Thus they embark on a journey into the woods—a place where dreams and wishes come true, yet one fraught with danger and challenge. Along the way, they cross paths with Little Red Riding Hood, Jack with his magic beans, Cinderella, and others, all harboring their own wishes they hope to fulfill in the forest.
